Hakken no Jutsu (Detection Technique)
Chakra Control (Body)
Rank: 2 (C-Class);
Range: Personal;
Target: You;
Duration: 10 of your posts;
Saving Throws: None;
Chakra Cost: 4.

By concentrating a high amount of Chakra to one's nose, he is able to increase this sensation by a thousand times. The user gains the Scent ability for the duration of the technique (see below). The user cannot track by sense of smell.

This special quality allows the user to detect approaching enemies and sniff out hidden foes. Creatures with the scent ability can identify familiar odors just as humans do familiar sights. The user can detect opponents within 30 feet by sense of smell. If the opponent is upwind, the range increases to 60 feet; if downwind, it drops to 15 feet. Strong scents, such as smoke or rotting garbage, can be detected at twice the ranges noted above. Overpowering scents, such as skunk musk, can be detected at triple normal range. When a scent is detected, the exact location of the source is not revealed—only its presence somewhere within range. The user can take a move action to note the direction of the scent. Whenever the user comes within 5 feet of the source, the creature can pinpoint the source’s location by making a Int check (DC 15).
